As part of the expanding Mk3 Focus product range, AIRTEC Motorsport launches the intercooler upgrade, to offer increased performance thanks to reduced charge temperatures compared to the original intercooler. This is particularly important for remapped examples.

The solution to improve the OEM intercooler, installed within the confines behind the bumper assembly, is based on a high-flow single-pass core design: wider, taller and deeper than the original. This offers a massive increase in frontal area and a huge increase in capacity, allowing it to make the most of the airflow provided.

With tapered end tanks, this same-spec intercooler has been tested up to 540 hp with an impressive intake temperature of 38 degrees.

Despite this improvement, the kit fits perfectly with the original bumper and can be returned to standard without any problems. It fits standard pipes but requires removal of the Ford air intakes; simply unbolt and refit the frame onto the supplied AIRTEC bracket. The complete fitting kit includes all necessary accessories.

The intercooler is available in Pro-Series Black or Natural Silver (with or without the AIRTEC logo).
