The S55 turbo engine that powers the BMW M2C/M3/M4 F8X uses a top-mounted water-cooled intercooler instead of a “normal” air-cooled intercooler. The stock top-mounted intercooler has a Tube&Fin core with locked plastic end tanks. This construction has its disadvantages as it is prone to cracks and starts to leak coolant into the engine or lose boost pressure from the tank seals.
The coolant in this system has its own separate cooling circuit combined by two radiators connected in parallel and a pump. The larger of these two radiators connected in parallel is positioned in the front part of the central cooling unit, the second smaller one is located in front of the right wheel arch.
These cars are equipped with plastic intercooler pipes on both the hot and cold sides. These pipes are a weekly connection on any tuned car or in some cases even a stock tune. OE plastic tubes often crack leaving you with a loss of boost.
Updates for all these parts were then designed using advanced 3D scanning and 3D modeling in the scanned environment.
You can choose between three different options for this product.

The high performance intercooler helps your engine produce more power by both lowering the temperature of the intake air and dropping pressure! This is a bar and plate unit with 3D freeform designed end tanks TIG welded to the core. It has an 85% larger core volume than the stock intercooler and surpasses the stock unit in both airflow and cooling efficiency. 16% better flow and 9°C lower IAT, so with better flow and lower IAT this is a real upgrade!
Radiators for the charge air cooling circuit lower the temperature of the water in the charge air cooling circuit. This equates to a lower intake air temperature that provides both more power and more persistent performance.
Intercooler lines, both from the turbochargers to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the throttle body, are designed to add durability while improving airflow.
