The S55 twin-turbo engine that powers the BMW M2C / M3 / M4 F8X features rather restrictive turbocharger inlet pipes. Reducing the restrictions on the inlet side of the turbo is of great importance.
High performance turbo intakes offer a solution that minimizes airflow restrictions just before the turbochargers!
The final design is a package with front and rear turbo inlets. The rear turbo inlet consists of a custom-designed aluminum tube with a welded and CNC machined turbo connection spoke flange. The front turbo inlet consists of a 3D freeform designed steel wire reinforced silicone hose that connects to the turbocharger using a CNC machined spoke adapter. Matt black hose clamps included.
Significant benefits with do88 turbo inlet pipes (stock comparison numbers):
– Larger diameter: 63mm (55mm), translates to a 33% larger flow area!
– Airflow at 75 mbar/1.09psi pressure drop, 778 CFM (690 CFM), do88 13% more flow!
– CNC machined turbo flanges with flow-optimized radius!
– Silicone hose reinforced with steel wire for better durability.
