Objective To reduce vibrations and stabilize the operation of the system at any rotation speed and at any operating temperature. Path All the metallic ball, roller and radial sliding fifth wheel systems existing on the market were taken into consideration, both on a theoretical and practical basis, and all the tests gave unsatisfactory results. Prototypes were created with alternative, metallic systems, without obtaining positive results. Only after exhausting laboratory and track tests did we arrive at the finalization of the Torsion Controller project. Thesis The component described above solves the following problems. First problem: during the excursion of the shifting curve, in the driven pulley group the bushing of the mobile pulley (torque corrector) slides axially along the hub of the fixed pulley and describes a small rotation, imparting a twist to the contrast spring. In some cases the spring loses its position by rubbing on the mass holder plate (dry metal on metal); in other cases, however, it remains integral with the itself, thus determining contrasting forces, which are randomly different. Second problem: the centrifugal forces that develop at high rotation speeds influence the spring, which deforms and begins to skid to the point of creating strong vibrations, annoying for the rider or harmful for the engine, and which above all make the shifting curve inconsistent. Result After testing in the test room and on the track, the project is approved on all types of scooters examined, with a full degree of satisfaction.
