Attention: In addition to an engine that has been modified for this performance, this turbocharger also requires additional tuning work such as intake, Y-pipe, lines, fuel supply and a new engine tune.

Designed for extreme performance, this upgrade turbocharger is actually neither an upgrade nor a hybrid turbocharger. All turbocharger components are of the highest quality and made from the best materials. In addition to the compressor housing specially made for this turbocharger, a high-strength stainless steel Garrett exhaust housing with increased exhaust gas flow rate is used. The latest technology comes to the fore under the housings. The highlight is a very high quality reverse rotation Garrett G30-900 fuselage assembly.

General description of the Garrett G series turbocharger

The latest generation of Garrett turbochargers is not a further development of the GTX series, but a completely new development. These turbochargers are smaller, more efficient, more powerful and more durable than comparable products. Turbochargers are sold with standard and reverse direction of rotation. This allows for flow-optimized gas flow in the exhaust and charge area. With the bi-turbo engine, it enables a symmetrical system structure.

Compressor wheel:

These very small turbochargers achieve extremely high performance with minimal space. The latest generation of compressor wheels designed by CFD is used. These wheels have up to 15% more flow for 60mm wheels and up to 30% more flow for 67mm compressor wheels (compared to GTX GEN II). All G series compressor wheels are forged and milled from special high-strength aluminum alloys.

Compressor housing:

The new aeronautics-optimized high-flow compressor housings with integrated holders for optional speed measurement sensors are matched to the new G-series compressor impellers. The optionally available speed sensor can now simply be inserted into the compressor housing and sealed with an O-ring.

Housing:

The fuselage assembly is attached to the exhaust housing by means of a V-band and can therefore be easily rotated to any position and 360°.
Four large water connection options allow for high cooling water flow rates and simple installation of supply and drain lines using the two -6AN adapters provided.
A -4AN oil restrictor with a 1mm hole is included for easy installation of the oil supply.
The newly designed compact 8mm high-speed ceramic bearing cartridge is shorter, thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The installation space thus gained allows for the first time the use of double elastic band seals on the compressor and turbine side, which significantly reduce any oil leaks from the bearing seat.

Cooling:

The turbocharger is equipped with water cooling. The connection is optionally via four connection threads attached to the side. This makes installing water pipes much easier.

Turbine wheel:

The completely redesigned turbine wheel made of Mar-M high-performance material allows exhaust gas temperatures up to 1050°C. The flow could be increased by up to 15-20% compared to GTX turbochargers. And this with an efficiency of up to 74%.

WARNING:

The maximum allowable operating speed for the Thor 900 turbocharger is 145,000 rpm. Operation of the turbocharger above this speed is at your own risk and may lead to failure of the turbocharger and therefore voiding the warranty. To avoid overrevving, we recommend using tachometer 781328-0003 (speed sensor and display tool kit) or 781328-0004 (speed sensor).
