Attention: In addition to an engine that has been modified for this performance, this turbocharger also requires additional adjustment work such as the intake, Y-pipe, piping, fuel supply and a new engine tuning.

Designed for extreme performance, this upgrade turbocharger is actually neither an upgrade nor a hybrid turbocharger. All turbocharger components are of the highest quality and made from the finest materials. In addition to the compressor housing custom-made for this turbocharger, a high-strength stainless steel Garrett exhaust housing with increased exhaust gas flow is used. The latest technology comes to the fore beneath the housings. The highlight is a high-quality Garrett G30-900 reverse-rotating fuselage assembly.

Special feature: You can keep your old turbocharger. This allows you to restore the vehicle to its original condition if necessary. This ultimately saves a lot of time and money. There is therefore no need to buy a new and therefore expensive turbocharger.

General description of the Garrett G-Series turbocharger

The latest generation of Garrett turbochargers is not a further development of the GTX series, but a completely new development. These turbochargers are smaller, more efficient, more powerful, and more durable than comparable products. The turbochargers are available with standard and reverse rotation. This allows for optimized gas flow in the exhaust and charge air areas. With the twin-turbo engine, this allows for a symmetrical system design.

Compressor Wheel:

These very small turbochargers achieve extremely high performance with minimal space requirements. The latest generation of CFD-designed compressor wheels is used. These wheels have up to 15% more flow for the 60 mm wheels and up to 30% more for the 67 mm compressor wheels (compared to the GTX GEN II). All G-Series compressor wheels are forged and milled from special high-strength aluminum alloys.

Compressor Housing:

The new, aviation-optimized, high-flow compressor housings with integrated mounts for optional speed measurement sensors are matched to the new G-Series compressor wheels. The optionally available speed sensor can now simply be inserted into the compressor housing and sealed with an O-ring.

Housing:

The fuselage assembly is attached to the exhaust housing by means of a V-band and can therefore be easily rotated to any position and through 360°.
Four large water connection options allow for a high cooling water flow rate and simple installation of the supply and exhaust lines using the two supplied -6AN adapters.
A -4AN oil restrictor with a 1 mm bore is included for easy installation of the supply oil.
The newly developed compact 8 mm high-speed ceramic bearing cartridge is shorter, thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The installation space thus gained allows the use of double piston ring seals on the compressor and turbine sides for the first time, which significantly reduces potential oil leakage from the bearing housing.

Cooling:

The turbocharger is equipped with water cooling. The connection is optionally via four laterally fixed connection threads. This makes the installation of water pipes much easier.

Turbine wheel:

The completely redesigned turbine wheel made of high-performance Mar-M material allows exhaust gas temperatures of up to 1050°C. Flow could be increased by up to 15-20% compared to GTX turbochargers. And this with an efficiency of up to 74%.

WARNING:

The maximum permitted operating speed for the Thor 900 turbocharger is 145,000 rpm. Operating the turbocharger above this speed is at your own risk and may lead to turbocharger failure and therefore void the warranty. To avoid over-revving, we recommend using the tachometer 781328-0003 (kit with speed sensor and display instrument) or 781328-0004 (speed sensor).
