AIRTEC MOTORSPORT – FRONT AND REAR TURBO INLET BMW S55

Description

As part of its expanding BMW product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch the enlarged turbo air intake upgrade for the hybrid turbo-equipped S55 engine.

The oversized turbo intakes, a direct replacement offering improved performance and response, feature a smoother design with an increased internal diameter, essential for mounting hybrid turbochargers.

How it works

The original air box elbows are made of plastic and gradually taper from 80mm to just 54mm and then to 41mm as they enter the turbos. While this is adequate for standard turbo cars, when fitting hybrid turbos, which consume more air, the stock elbows can cause an unnecessary restriction that hinders flow when pushing for more power.

Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement intakes have been designed in-house to feature piping that very gently tapers down to 64mm in diameter as they reach the turbo inlet, thus removing the stepped restriction and allowing the maximum amount of internal flow, with increases of almost 35% over standard.

The elbow upgrade includes piping for the front and rear turbos and includes all fixtures and fittings.

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend mounting them at the same time as installing hybrid turbochargers and therefore do not provide mounting instructions for this product.
