Introducing our F9X X5M, G09 XM socket. This aspiration is the result of extensive research and development and testing to improve the flow path of the stock system. Our system is a complete redesign of the stock airboxes with the goal of reducing pressure loss by increasing flow rate and keeping inlet temperatures low. With the stock cold air at the front of the car and the turbo inlets facing the rear of the car, the airflow must negotiate a 180 degree rotation through each airbox resulting in flow restriction. To overcome this we have introduced an additional cold air supply from the aperture panel, which results in a more direct flow path to the turbo inlets. The additional feeds allow the intake to have a greater flow while keeping the IATs low and have the added advantage of limiting the sound of the turbos.

Dyno Tested

This grip has been independently dyno tested by MSL Performance in the UK. Back-to-back tests were performed against the stock airbox, and several tests were performed with each configuration. The car tested lacked carbon filters in the stock airboxes. The dyno results show a steady increase across much of the rpm range which can be attributed to the turbos reaching peak boost earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the increased efficiency of the intake system. The performance improvement translates on the road into greater partial and full throttle response with the car pulling much more eagerly towards redline

The Eventuri X5M intake system consists of a series of components designed to perform a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. We use 100% prepreg carbon fiber without glass fiber, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details of each component and the design ethos behind them:

Each extraction system consists of:



  • 2 patented carbon fiber venturi filter housings
  • 2 custom made high flow dry cone filters
  • 2 twin carbon fiber air ducts
  • Carbon fiber engine cover
  • 2 EPDM rear air feeders
  • Silicon couplers
  • CNC machined bracket supports

FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLIES

Filter housings include our custom-made second generation filters, aluminum inlet caps and stainless steel brackets. The carbon capsule wraps around the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow to the OEM turbo inlets. This changes the flow path from the OEM airbox where the airflow enters the base of the airbox, changes direction 90 degrees to travel through the panel filter, and then changes direction 90 degrees again to travel through the tube section. Our system is much more direct with the airflow entering the front of the filter housing and moving into the turbo inlet section without abrupt changes in direction. The result is a smoother path from the filter to the turbo and therefore is able to operate with less resistance.

CUSTOM CONE FILTER

To obtain the maximum possible flow rate we use a filter element to make the most of the space available in the engine compartment. The filter media is ISO tested to ensure the filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to aid the venturi housing principle.

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

Our patented filter housing features a gradual reduction in cross-sectional area as it wraps around the filter and tapers towards the tube. This geometry recalls the Venturi effect in which the air flow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack: Below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a normal intake system. Our custom-made filters help the airflow move through the housings and allow for a uniform velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings. DUAL CARBON AIR DUCTS

The biggest limitation in the stock system is the location of the fuel intake relative to the orientation of the turbo inlets. The feeds are at the front of the car and the turbo intakes face the rear of the car. We designed the air ducts with an additional opening at the top and introduced a secondary supply where cold air is drawn from the opening panel. By using both OEM air supplies and additional air supplies, our system is able to flow at a higher velocity and provide a less tortuous flow path to the turbos.

EPDM REAR SUPPLIES

To ensure the intake is completely sealed, secondary vents on the carbon ducts seal these EPDM feeds which then route to the exhaust panel area. Once the bonnet is closed, the tailgate area is isolated from the engine compartment, therefore these supplies are able to provide the intake with a supply of ambient air. A pre-cut center section of the OEM hood gasket is provided to allow room for the installation of these EPDM feeders.

CARBON ENGINE COVER

Because our filter housings were designed for maximum volume, the OEM engine cover no longer fits in place. So we produced a modified cover that completes the engine bay, covering the engine hardware for a complete aesthetic. We""ve left gaps between the engine cover and the intakes so heat from the engine can easily dissipate rather than seep into the intake system.

The complete system comes together to provide an intake that improves on the stock airbox in performance, aesthetics and sound.
