Fitment for G01 X3 M40i and G02 X4 M40i, B58D engine variant
N.B. Models before June 2019 could have a B58 or B58D engine. The product only fits the B58D version. Our intake is not suitable for the B58 engine version, but we will soon make a new pipe and flange for this version.
The intake of the BMW X3 M40i Eventuri was developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path while maintaining low inlet temperatures.
In the M40i, the proximity of the intake system to the exhaust manifold presents a challenge, as it quickly heats the engine compartment. High temperatures compromise engine performance, making it necessary to find a solution that guarantees minimum intake air temperatures (IAT). Our solution includes a fully sealed intake system, designed to counteract heat absorption and prevent the turbo from sucking in hot air.
Additionally, our sealed airbox features a reflective gold-coated heat shield, which effectively minimizes radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To optimize airflow volume, we maximized the size of the airbox, incorporating a recess to perfectly accommodate the strut reinforcement.
Replacing the stock twisted intake tube, our design uses a prepreg carbon tube, boasting a much larger internal volume with a 109mm (4.3"") internal diameter that seamlessly tapers to fit the turbo inlet, ensuring an uninterrupted airflow path is a custom high-flow dry filter, rigorously tested for ISO certified filtration performance and boasts a larger filtration area than the stock filter. series.

EVE-GXXB58-CF-INT : BMW G01 X3 M40i, G02 X4 M40i intake system
The Eventuri X3/X4 M40i intake system consists of a series of components designed to perform a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. We use 100% prepreg carbon fiber without glass fiber, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details of each component and the design ethos behind them:
Each extraction system consists of:
Carbon fiber air filter box
Custom made high flow dry cone filter
Carbon fiber inlet tube
CNC machined temperature sensor holder
CNC machined breather adapter
CNC machined turbo flange
Heat shield with golden reflective support
Laser cut stainless steel brackets
Silicon coupler with OEM specification terminals
Carbon Fiber Airbox
Made of prepreg carbon fiber, the airbox effectively seals the filter from the heat of the engine compartment. As the airbox is positioned next to the exhaust manifold, it is critical that the filter is completely sealed, so we have designed the airbox to encapsulate the filter whilst providing ample internal volume. To seal the intake pipe we designed a laser cut plate with a rubber sealing strip that attaches to the airbox. The intake hose passes through the plate and the rubber seal ensures that hot air does not enter the airbox. To further reduce heat absorption, there is an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the side of the exhaust manifold which effectively combats radiant heat transfer.
Carbon inlet pipe
The stock inlet pipe has a flexible, twisted section to provide movement to the engine. This however also adds the possibility of turbulence in the flow path as there are more faces that can cause vortices. We replace it with our carbon tube which is smooth and also has a larger internal volume. Unlike most aftermarket intakes, we have maximized the size of our intake hose, the OEM intake hose has an internal diameter of 80.8mm or 3.2 inches at the filter end. Our pipe has an internal diameter of 109mm or 4.3"". This equates to a massive 82% increase in cross-sectional area over stock. The pipe tapers smoothly towards the stock turbo inlet to ensure airflow remains as laminar as possible. The pipe also features CNC machined fitting for the temperature sensor and breather adapter.
Custom made cone filter
Our cone filter is made from a double layer non-woven mesh material and is ISO tested to ensure filtration is in line with OEM standards. The filter is washable and very stable at high temperatures as the filter media has a significantly larger surface volume than the panel filter as standard.
