AIRTEC have released the Audi Sport S1 front mount intercooler upgrade to their growing range of high performance intercoolers.

Audi have done a great job fitting the Golf GTI's 2.0 TSI into the small chassis of the S1, unfortunately, due to the size restrictions of the S1, they have made a huge compromise in the intercooler department and the S1 intercooler is a third of the size found in the Golf GTI.

Road testing found the standard intercooler was a heat bath (unable to cool the intake temps from the turbo) and temps rose to 69 degrees, which causes the ECU to pull timing off the map and means a drop in horsepower.

With the AIRTEC intercooler upgrade Once fitted, intake temperatures did not rise above 24 degrees, meaning no loss of hp. Tested on a standard S1 using Snap-on Ethos.
