AIRTEC Motorsport front mount intercooler for Honda Civic FK8 Type R
In the Honda Civic FK8 Type R product range, AIRTEC Motorsport launches the intercooler upgrade suitable for track or road use.
To ensure there is no noticeable loss of performance during long periods of hard driving, a larger, smoother intercooler has been developed as a direct replacement for the smaller, more restrictive OEM item.
The solution to increase the size and performance of the intercooler, within the constraints of the limited space behind the bumper, is based on a wide and short core with a huge depth of 125 mm. This offers a massive 140% increase in overall capacity compared to the original intercooler, as well as a significant increase in frontal area compared to standard, allowing it to make the most of the airflow provided.
The inlet side of the intercooler increases from 50mm in diameter to 63mm, while the outlet increases from 55mm to 70mm to further improve flow. The original oval push tube connectors, with O-ring seals, have also been redesigned to feature simpler, less restrictive silicone connectors.
Together with high-flow molded one-piece cast end tanks, and an internal air diverter to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater efficiency and volume than standard.
TRACK TESTED
After a long development process, the intercooler has been tried, tested and registered on the road and track. Comprehensive testing highlighted the intercooler""s improved design to cope with long periods of heavy use, as demonstrated by consistently low inlet temperature results and improved recovery times compared to the OEM intercooler.
The kit fits perfectly behind the original bumper and requires no trimming or cutting and can be brought back to standard without any problems. The complete assembly kit includes all necessary hardware, detailed instructions and Pro Hoses silicone connectors.
The intercooler is available in a Pro-Series Black finish (with or without the AIRTEC logo) and gloss black Pro Hoses silicone connectors.
