Description RS24 rear shock absorber for Yamaha T MAX 500cc PATENTED hydro-pneumatic suspension From the collaboration of Malossi technicians with the manufacturer Paioli a truly superlative, compact and super rear suspension was born /> light. A true oleopneumatic suspension with variable trim, with adjustment of the hydraulics in extension, compensated by a pressurized nitrogen chamber, equipped with a special patented spring preload adjustment system capable of providing excellent driving comfort, both for sports and touring, with and without a passenger on board. The project has been studied for a long time by the technicians of the two companies who, accustomed to teamwork for years, have combined their experiences to create an innovative suspension. In order to guarantee the reliability of the new suspension, countless prototypes were first created and then subjected to very severe laboratory tests, which lasted for weeks on specific test benches, before being tested on the road and in racetracks. The versatility of this suspension has proven surprising thanks to the 3 new adjustment systems, which enhance its use on the road and on the track: Adjustment of the hydraulic system in extension to absorb all the roughness of the terrain. Spring preload to adapt the vehicle""s running position, depending on the weight of the passengers. This suspension adopts a particular patented system, unique in the world, which allows you to make all the necessary adjustments simply by acting with a hexagonal key on a screw located in the shock absorber head, in an easily accessible position. System for varying the set-up for cornering behaviour, if the vehicle is used for sporting purposes. The peculiarity of the project consists precisely in the possibility of carrying out all the necessary adjustments quickly and effectively, without it being necessary to remove the shock absorber from the vehicle. In the project study phase, nothing was overlooked! Weight containment, for example, was one of the main objectives we set for ourselves: this is the reason why a large part of the components are made of ergal, forged, extruded and machined from solid wood, thanks to the best existing technologies. The result of this meticulous design has allowed us to achieve a weight saving of About 20%, in detail we went from the 4,838 grams of the original to the 4,030 grams of the RS24 suspension.
