WOSSNER is considered by leading European motorsports engine builders to be the piston of choice when building an engine not only for performance, but also to withstand the stresses and rigors of racing life. WOSSNER pistons feature a unique PTFE coating on the skirts and a 4032 (T6) alloy grade that allows the engine builder to run a piston closer to tolerate the tolerance it might on another brand piston.
This helps remove squeezing noise during cold starting, common among engines running forged pistons due to larger bore gaps than OE. Piston crowns are also polished to better resist detonation on a high-performance engine. Polishing allows heat to spread more evenly within the chamber, helping to prevent “hot spots” on the piston crowns. The price includes all piston rings and pins.
The ZRP connecting rods of the section are forged in AISI 4340 (En24) steel. Heat treated with HRC 35-38 and then shot peened for greater fatigue resistance. The small ends are bushed for a fully floating pivot and the large ends feature high quality ARP fasteners with different specification bolts available depending on the level of performance required.
